Personal Background

Damian was born in Dublin and lives in Leopardstown. He attended Clonkeen College before embarking on a career in the accountancy and taxation profession.

Business Background

Damian is the Manager of Legal Services and joined our firm in 2002 as part of our merger with Russell & Associates, Chartered Accountants. He is a Member of the Taxation Institute of Ireland and an Associate of the Institute of Accounting Technicians and has over 25 years experience in the area of public practice.

Over the past 10 years Damian has specialised in the provision of accounting and advisory services to the legal profession.

Sept 1982: Joined Conran Russell & Co as a trainee accountant
August 1988: Promoted to Tax Senior with BDO Binder (new merger incorporating Conran Russell & Co)
May 1996: Promoted to Assistant Tax Manager with BDO Simpson Xavier (new merger in 1992 incorporating BDO Binder)
June 1998: Joined Russell & Associates
Nov 2002: Joined Haydon – Chartered Accountants as Manager of Legal Services (following merger with Russell & Associates)

Personal Interests

Damian is married with four children. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, cinema and following the trials and tribulations of Formula 1.

Role in Firm

Dealing with all the accounting requirements of solicitors firms including annual accounts, statutory compliance under the Solicitors Accounts Regulations, Law Society inspections, management accounts, advising on computerisation of manual records and general income tax, PAYE/PRSI and VAT issues which arise for sole practitioners and partners of legal firms.
